Less stress in teeth alignment, little or no negative effect on your gum, customized aligners for your particular teeth and a host of other benefits abound when you get ClearCorrect clear aligners.
Since their development by Chishti and Wirth in 1997, the technology has gone through advances. Thus, it helps to understand how they actually work in realigning your teeth for perfect dentition.
Start With the Dentist
The process of attaching clear aligners to your teeth starts from a simple visit to your dentist. The essence of this initial process is an appreciation of the problem.
This doesn't have to be the dreaded dentist visit that involves dental operations. It simply involves discussions with your dentist about the need to align your teeth. The dentist then conducts a simple examination of your teeth to arrive at a recommendation.
Clinical Assessment Stage
Once the initial assessment has been dealt with, you can schedule another meeting with your dentist. The purpose of this meeting is to explain the technical aspects of this treatment to you and the commitment it would require on your part.
During this meeting, the dentist would also perform an x-ray on your mouth. Impressions of your teeth would also be made to be sent to the lab for the production of the 3D aligners.
Final Consultation
Before getting your first set of aligners, you would need to visit for the third time for an understanding of the treatment plan. You would be shown the virtual representation of your current dentition, the mid-treatment projections and final projections all in 3D. You would also be intimated with a specific treatment plan personalized to suit the specific nature of your teeth.
Production Stage
Once the first three stages are completed, you would subsequently be provided with ClearCorrect invisible braces that have been specifically designed for you. The aligners would be provided in batches as stated in your treatment plan with the next set of aligners arriving as soon as a treatment stage is completed.
Treatment Stage
At this level, you will be furnished with instructions as to the usage. This includes when you would wear them, how they should be worn and how long you should wear them for. You would be required to carry out this entire process on your own.
It is important to note here that the success of the best invisible braces is totally dependent on your discipline in following your treatment plan as a lot can be jeopardized if they aren't followed to the latter.
You must ensure that the aligners are placed on your teeth for the required amount of time. The average requirement is between 20 - 22 hours. Not wearing them for the stipulated time could set back treatment by weeks.
